Meet members of the team

Olivier Majerus, General Manager, Carmeuse Overseas (BE)

Olivier is Belgian and holds a Master’s Degree in Business Engineering.  He started his career with a large chemical company, moved onto sugar trading and joined Carmeuse in 1994 to develop export sales, which ultimately lead to the creation of Carmeuse Overseas in 2007.

Fencing and cycling are his favorite sports.

Filipe Batista, Finance Officer, Carmeuse Trading & Services (CH)

Filipe is both Portuguese and Swiss, born in France. He holds a Bachelor in Business Administration. After 17 years working in a small Swiss trading company, he joined Carmeuse Trading & Services in 2009.  His first position was in logistics and since 2016, he is Finance Officer.

Filipe is married and has two children.  His main interest is live music concerts (not on stage, but with the fans).

Leila Ouedraogo, HSE Manager, Chaux de la Teranga (SN)

Leila is from Burkina-Faso and has been based in Senegal since 2011.  She holds a bachelor’s degree in Economics, a Master’s degree in Quality, Health, Safety and Environment Management and was previously HSE Manager at LSE (Les specialistes de l’energie).  Leila joined Chaux de la Teranga in April 2019.

Leila is the mother of two lovely little boys.

She loves dance and music, and volunteering.

Clovis Mulala, Area Sales and Technical Manager, Copperbelt (DRC)

Clovis, Congolese, completed his engineering studies at the University of Lubumbashi and worked in  Copper Pyrometallurgy for half a year, he went on to further his studies with a Master’s in Metallurgy at the University of Pretoria, RSA.  He joined CMO in 2017, supporting the sales of Handyman’s Lime, Zambia in the DRC. He also supports our flotation reagents business in West Africa in partnership with Solvay.

Clovis is married to Innocentia and their son’s name is Michel-Jordan.

Clovis loves soccer (an unconditional fan of Real Madrid), cycling, running, walking, music, travel and a fan of DIY solutions.

 

Faisal Iddrisu, General Manager, Operations, Carmeuse Lime & Products (GH)

Faisal graduated from the University of Ghana - Legon, where he received his first degree in Geography. He holds a Post Graduate Certificate in Occupational Safety, Health and Environmental Management and an Advanced Diploma in Logistics and Supply Chain. As a certified Lead Auditor in Quality and Environmental Management Systems, Faisal has led the implementation and maintenance of the Managements Systems at Carmeuse Lime & Products, since 2010.

He joined Carmeuse as a Laboratory Technician in 2010. Faisal has progressed quickly through various portfolios by virtue of his hard work, commitment and dedication at work before attaining his current status.

Faisal loves to cycle in his leisure time and is a proud husband and father of two.

Lise-Marie Schers, West Africa Account Manager, Carmeuse Trading & Services (SN)

Lise-Marie joined Carmeuse Swiss office in 1999 and after 9 years as Logistics Officer, moved with her family to Bamako (Mali)  as a first representation in West Africa.  This presented a great opportunity to travel and be in the field, close to the clients in the mining sector. In 2012 she moved to Senegal where Carmeuse Overseas is now building its first lime kiln, near Dakar.

Lise-Marie enjoys travelling with her family (2 sons and her husband) to discover new places and different cultures. Her hobbies include Latino dancing, skiing and horse riding.

 

Alain Mayor, Supply Chain Manager, Carmeuse Trading & Services (CH)

Alain is a Swiss citizen and has been with Carmeuse Overseas for 25 years. He is based in Monthey (CH) and is member of our Executive Committee. Alain is mainly in charge of the supply chain management, but also responsible for our trade business all around the world.

Alain enjoys outdoor activities like hiking, either in winter with ski (peau de phoques) or in summer.  He also likes swimming and spending time with his family. “La logistique est la réalisation de la promesse marketing” or “logistics is the name of the game” and providing a top class service, could be seen as his motto.
