ABOUT CARMEUSE OVERSEAS

A global organisation with a local touch

Carmeuse Overseas (CMO), part of the Carmeuse Group, builds on more than 165 years of heritage in limestone mining and processing. The Carmeuse story began in 1860 with Léon Collinet, and over five generations, the Collinet family has grown the business from a collection of local quarries into a global industry leader. This journey has been shaped by resilience through economic cycles and world events and driven by the dedication of its people.

Today, CMO extends this legacy into Africa as the only global lime manufacturer with active operations across the continent. With seven production plants and 11 offices spanning Africa, Europe, and Asia, we bring decades of lime expertise and a strong commitment to sustainable development to the regions we serve.
