In an effort to combat nutrition-related diseases, Carmeuse Mauritania hosted a workshop on nutrition in collaboration with the Departmental Inspection of Nouakchott South, in May this year.

The event, led by Nutriconseil, aimed to educate the community on the importance of proper nutrition and its impact on health.

The workshop featured interactive sessions where participants learned about balanced diets, the benefits of various food groups, and practical tips for healthy eating.

Nutriconseil’s experts provided valuable insights into how poor dietary habits can lead to serious health issues, such as diabetes.

Furthermore, in collaboration with the NGO, SOS Diabète, the workshop also included a sensitization session on diseases linked to poor nutrition, specifically for the students of the El Mina school. Representatives from SOS Diabète highlighted the rising prevalence of diabetes in the community and stressed the importance of early detection and management through proper diet and lifestyle changes.

The students were encouraged to ask questions, making the workshop an interactive experience.

Carmeuse Mauritania extends its gratitude to the authorities and SOS Diabète for their wonderful collaboration in making this event a success.
