Carmeuse Overseas has been supporting several schools in Africa through our Triathlime initiative, and have decided to do more as part of our Sustainability Agenda 2021. For SDG 4, we embarked on expanding our support to our neighbouring schools.
We’ve already shared that Carmeuse Cote d’Ivoire sponsored the National Excellence Day, but we also have several initiatives in Ghana, Senegal, and Zambia.
We will start the overview in Ghana, where Carmeuse Lime Products (CLP) worked together with 2 schools to improve some of their infrastructure.
Firstly, at the Sofokrom Basic School, we renovated the washrooms, installed white boards in the classrooms and painted the children’s block.
Secondly, at the Sekondi College in Essipong, we tiled the classrooms and donated renovated lockers to the students.
In Zambia, Handyman’s Lime (HLL) continued the work with the Muwaya Primary School by renovating all the toilets and purchasing books for the school.
