Carmeuse Overseas has selected 4 SDG’s for its sustainability agenda 2021.
For SDG 3 – Good Health & Well-Being, we organize various awareness sessions for the communities where we are established. As part of this, Carmeuse Lime Products Ghana, coordinated a session around the prevention of Malaria with the Sofokrom community in Takoradi, Ghana.
CLP contacted the Ghana Health Service, who are experts in this field, to lead the session and inform the community of Sofokrom. The Ghana Health Service were very receptive in indicating what was essential to ensure the success of the program, such as, the approval of the community leaders and Sofokrom Regent, broadcasting the program on the community radio station and the purchasing of mosquito nets for distribution.
CLP would like to thank the Regent of Sofokrom for being extremely interactive and willing to work with us. He was of great help in mobilizing his community members to participate in the session. Thanks to this event, CLP has further strengthened their community relations.
