The Carmeuse Foundation agreed to help the Maria Reconfort Centre in Côte d’Ivoire. The center aims to help autistic children to integrate into society and attend regular school. Furthermore, they hope to break the stigma around autism as well. The center provides educational support and medical follow-up for some 20 children today. With the help of Carmeuse, the center will be able to find a long-term solution for the daily transport of the children between the center and their homes.
We also use this opportunity to update you on the previous project. The teacher houses in Zambia, near the Muwaya Primary School, are almost completed. A few minor works still need to be carried out, and teachers should be able to move in from 2024.
