In August 2024, Carmeuse Ghana (CLP) took a proactive step towards employee health and wellness by organizing a comprehensive diabetes screening and education session for all staff members.
The event featured Dr. Michael Adum-Attah, a physician from a Takoradi Hospital, who conducted fasting blood sugar screenings to identify early signs of diabetes among the staff.
The screening results revealed that some employees were prediabetic or diabetic, and 10 had high blood pressure. Recognizing the importance of early detection and management, Dr. Adum-Attah provided an informative session on the signs and symptoms of diabetes, emphasizing the significance of lifestyle changes and regular monitoring.
To ensure continuous support, all staff members will receive follow-up consultations with Dr. Adum-Attah.
