Triathlime, a Carmeuse Overseas initiative, started in 2017. In short, we are divided into three teams, who cover all three triathlon disciplines to generate funds. The funds are used to sponsor schools near our operations.
Carmeuse Lime Products – Ghana sponsored the Twin City Special School. The school comprises of 10 classrooms, with 155 students. Two projects were identified: the construction of drainage and the tiling of the corridor and classrooms. Both projects were completed in November 2020.
Chaux de la Teranga – Senegal sponsored the Elementary school of Bandia. The school comprises of 7 classrooms, with 270 students. Projects identified were repainting of the exterior and interior of the school as well as replacing doors, windows and metal window grills. Works were completed in November 2020.
Handyman’s Lime – Zambia have been working with the Meweya school. The school comprises of 3 classrooms, with 500 students. Much needed improvements such as overhead tanks, water supply to the toilets and roofing of the toilets are planned. This will be carried out later this year.
