Carmeuse Overseas believes strongly in offering opportunities to newly graduated students. This is an integral part of our Sustainability Agenda and linked to SDG 4, being ‘Quality Education’.
We would like to share the story of Matar and Marieme, both of whom completed a successful internship at Chaux de la Teranga, our branch in Senegal.
Matar joined us as a trainee accountant in October 2020, and is now permanently employed as an accountant under the supervision of our Administrative and Financial manager. Matar was certain that working as an intern at Chaux de la Teranga would offer many challenges and opportunities. He feels very fortunate to be part of a young, dynamic and ambitious company and is proud to be a part of the Carmeuse Overseas Team.
Marieme started her internship as Quality, Health & Safety and Environmental (QHSE) Assistant in September 2020. Today, she is not only permanently employed as our QHSE Assistant, but she has taken on even more challenges, such as assisting the technical department and the production manager for all technical needs. This opportunity has not only allowed Marieme to enter into the professional world, but also acquire experience and put into practice her knowledge attained during her studies, plus improve her technical knowledge.
